Watching a scan run
Progress streams over server-sent events, in the app and on the free-scan page.
Scans stream their progress rather than making you poll. Each stage announces when it starts and finishes, and findings are counted as they are admitted, so you can see something is happening before the report exists.
- On the landing page, the free scan streams to the browser with no account involved.
- Inside the app, the stream is bound to the scan by a token of its own rather than to your session.
- Closing the page does not stop the scan. The report is waiting when you come back, and the email arrives either way.
Questions
The progress stopped updating. Is my scan broken?
Not necessarily - a dropped connection stops the stream, not the scan. Reload the page; the current state is fetched fresh and the stream reconnects.
